Earth Day <> Reduce/ Reuse/ Recycle

Here are some ways to celebrate earth day all year round <3
  1. bring reusable flatware to work with you (or leaving it there) instead of plastic that is thrown out every day. I have that set and love it, so much that it could double as everyday utensils.
  2. purchasing a reusable water bottle to use instead of using many many plastic water bottles every day, if you prefer filtered water try it with a charcoal filter.
  3. purchasing a travel mug for coffee and/or tea
    1. pro tip: I own a coffee travel mug and a travel tea mug, because as one knows, coffee flavor deeply permeates all that it touches. forever.
  4. using a canvas or reusable tote when you go to the grocery store, plastic bags end up in landfills, and save the trees!
  5. recycling- find out about recycling in the city or town that you live in!
  6. you may be aware that in some cities and towns the automatic tendency is to drive places that are very close. only out of habit, or because everyone else does. maybe you could walk or ride a bike to these locations. If you are going somewhere a little farther think about carpooling or taking public transportation.
  7. share something or swap with a friend instead of buying new
  8. do not throw unwanted clothing away. organize a clothing swap with friends, or take your clothing to a thrift or resale store.
  9. planting trees and wildflowers. If you choose to plant wildflowers, or floral bombs choose flowers that are native to your area. restoring the local plant life will help attract native birds and bees as well as local mammals.
  10. volunteer your time. either on your own, or with a group or organization. clean up litter in your community. I spend several days a week hanging out by the lake where I live. it is magnificent and powerful. in reality it is also littered with trash. Think about spending a small amount of time cleaning up where you live.
  11. get outside! go for a hike a walk, a swim anything! just get out there and start appreciating all that the earth offers.
